About
Founded in 1978 by Arthur Goodman as the San Diego Local Development Corporation and renamed CDC Small Business Finance in 1991, CDC is the nation’s #1 mission-based small business lender and has finished multiple recent fiscal years as the top SBA 504 lender in the United States. In 2022, CDC Small Business Finance joined forces with Capital Impact Partners to form the Momentus Capital family of organizations, headquartered jointly in San Diego and Arlington, VA. Together, the organization provides a broad continuum of capital solutions, including SBA 504 commercial real estate loans, SBA 7(a) Community Advantage loans, SBA Microloans, CDFI lending, equipment financing, and bridge loans. Over its history, the combined Momentus Capital family has delivered more than $24 billion in financing, served over 14,000 small businesses, and helped create or preserve nearly 300,000 jobs. CDC focuses particularly on supporting women-, minority-, and veteran-owned businesses in low-to-moderate-income communities.
