Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Concord, California, Bay Area Development Company (legal name: Bay Area Employment Development Company, often called BayDevCo) is a non-profit Certified Development Company and one of the top 20 SBA 504 lenders in the country. The company specializes exclusively in SBA 504 financing for commercial real estate, machinery and equipment, and 504 refinancing. Since inception, BayDevCo has provided over $3 billion in 504 project financing to more than 1,700 small businesses, helping create over 16,000 jobs. More than a third of their borrowers are women- and minority-owned businesses, and a similar share are located in low- and moderate-income areas.
